Helpful Facts

  1. Alberta Transportation is now responsible for plowing the Secondary Highways in the County.

  2. Within the first six hours after an average snowstorm, you can expect local paved and oiled roads to be plowed and major intersections sanded.

  3. It will normally take about 4 days for all local gravel roads to be cleared of snow, and after a severe snowstorm the work will take that much longer.

  4. County policy states that private driveways are plowed only when all public roads are cleared for travel.

  5. Should you require having your driveway cleared of snow, you may purchase a snowplowing/grading request flag from the county at a cost of $25.00.  The flags may be purchased at the Infrastructure Services Facility at Beaver Lake, the Rich Lake Store or at the Plamondon Coop Gas Bar.  A snowplowing/grading agreement will have to be signed by the purchaser at the time of purchase.  Flags must be displayed at the entrance to the owner’s driveway and shall be picked up by the operator at the completion of the work.  Maximum time for plowing/grading of a driveway shall be 15 minutes.

Summer Road Bans are still in effect until further notice.
