Legislative Services is the administrative arm of County Council, conducting research and gathering information, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes and keeping records. Legislative Services also oversees records management, safeguards personal information collected by the County, provides legal services and manages local municipal elections. Contact us if you would like to correct, access or just ask questions about your personal information that the County has on file.

Most of the County’s records like Council meeting minutes, key planning documents including budgets, bylaws, and policies and procedures are available to the public. If you can’t find something on the website, send your written request to Legislative Services. Depending on the type of request, you may be required to submit a Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) request and pay a data retrieval fee. Contact us first with your request to determine if that is necessary.

The County offers a free Commissioner for Oaths service but reserves the right to decline commissioning certain documents. Call 780-623-1747 to book an appointment and confirm your documents can be commissioned by us.

The next municipal election is slated for 2017.
