County seeking local residents to become Tourism Ambassadors
Have you ever wanted to be a tour guide? Are you proud of your community? Do you have something to share with visitors and help them experience unforgettable moments in our region?
Lac La Biche County is looking for local residents interested in connecting with visitors to our community — because, as every traveller knows, there’s no substitute for local knowledge when you’re exploring a new place.
Whether you see yourself taking visitors fishing and showing them how to reel in the catch of a lifetime, sharing your cultural traditions and heritage with them, or just meeting for coffee to welcome them to the area, we encourage you to register as a local Tourism Ambassador.
Why local residents? Community members know the lay of the land and have access to unique experiences, helping visitors gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of our region, beyond what tourism guidebooks can convey.
There are no obligations when registering, and your information will be kept confidential. At this stage, the County is collecting information to determine if a full Tourism Ambassador program is feasible, and to find out who can offer what in the local area.
If the program proceeds, registered community members may be added to a public directory of “experience providers.”
