We are in the process of updating our five-year Economic Development Strategy, which will help us diversify our economy, strengthen partnerships within and around our community, and provide an environment where businesses can thrive and grow.

The County is looking for community input through three online workshops on Monday, March 30. Due to COVID-19, the workshops will be held online with Zoom, so video conferencing and calling in by phone will both be options for participating. Stakeholders can register for workshops on Eventbrite. For more details or help with registering, those interested in participating can contact Jana Rowe at (780) 623-6737 or

“Council continues to prioritize economic development. Now is not the time to take our eyes off the ball. The strategy we’re working on will need to address business resiliency, diversification and innovation. This conversation has been ongoing for a long time, but now more than ever, we need to plan for the future and the sustainability of our community.” - Mayor Omer Moghrabi

“It is extremely important for us to keep moving forward with our Economic Development Strategy, so we have a clear direction and plan for growth and recovery in light of COVID-19, the continued slowdown in our energy sector and the impacts these have and will continue to have on our local community.” - Jana Rowe, Lac La Biche County Tourism Marketing & Economic Development Coordinator
