The Wildfire Mitigation Incentive Program provides funding to property owners in Lac La Biche County and neighboring First Nation Reserves and Metis Settlements for projects which reduce wildfire risk and threat. Qualifying Property owners will be eligible to apply for up to $2,500, to a maximum of 50% of total eligible costs. This program is part of a multi-faceted approach to FireSmart the County has adopted, and complements its existing FireSmart programming.
Lac La Biche County was one of 10 organizations across Canada to receive grant funding from Intact Public Entities and Intact Financial Corporation to fund this program. Learn More

How to Apply
If you are interested and eligible, complete the application form and budget form below linked below, and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org, or drop it off in person at the Protective Services Building (9110 Beaver Hill Road Lac La Biche).
If you apply and are approved for funding, you will enter into a funding agreement. The attached document is an example of what the agreement will look like. The agreement must be signed before the project can begin.
Following the completion of your project, you will be required to complete a final report outlining your costs, as well as provide “after” photos, invoices and receipts.
