Official Election Results

After a busy election season, Lac La Biche County has chosen its Council for the next four years. Paul Reutov will serve as Mayor. Ward Councillors that will serve are as follows: Darlene Beniuk, Ward 1; Kevin Paré, Ward 2; Colette Borgun, Ward 3; Jason Stedman, Ward 4; Charlyn Moore, Ward 5; Sterling Johnson, Ward 6; John Mondal, Ward 7; and Lorin Tkachuk, Ward 7. Results became official at noon on October 22, 2021.

3,290 ballots were cast (including those who voted by special ballot), with 1,140 votes received during the three advance voting dates that voters were invited to participate in. Voter turnout was 56 per cent of the electorate. This election represents the first time that Lac La Biche County used electronic tabulators to count ballots, which allowed results to be gathered accurately, securely, and quickly on election night. It was also the first time that County election staff were tasked with overseeing two provincial elections, the Senate election and referendum vote, including administering the vote for Beaver Lake Cree Nation and Heart Lake First Nation.
